1. Seed imbibition and germination of Plathymenia reticulata Benth. (Fabaceae) affected by mercury: possible role of aquaporins
ABSTRACTStudies that evaluate the physiological and biochemical mechanisms of germination within forest species are needed in order to improve our understanding of such processes. Mercury and dithiothreitol are indicated as important tools in studies that assess the activity of aquaporins during imbibition and germination of seeds. To investigate the alterat

2. Aquaporins and the control of the water status in coffee plants
Six aquaporin (AQP) homologues were identified in three coffee species (Coffea arabica, C. Canephora, and C. racemosa), including four plasma membrane intrinsic proteins (PIP1;1, PIP1;2, PIP2;1, and PIP2;2) and two tonoplast intrinsic proteins (TIP1;1 and TIP1;2). In order to better understand the role of these genes in coffee, C. arabica cvs Catuaí and Mun

4. Efeito da carbamazepina na reabsorção de água pelo ducto coletor medular interno de ratos normais e de ratos com diabetes insípido nefrogênico induzido pelo lítio / Effect of carbamazepine on water absorption in the inner medullary collecting duct from normal rats and from rats with lithium-induced diabetes insipidus
Carbamazepine (Carba) is an anticonvulsant and a psychotropic medication commonly used in the treatment of patients with intellectual disability (ID). This drug has been used to try to decrease the urinary volume in Diabetes Insipidus (DI) because Carba presents an antidiuretic effect, but the incidence of the hyponatremia in neurological patients is a commo

5. Physiological and molecular characterization of drought tolerance and its relation with the root system in Coffea species / Caracterização fisiologica e molecular da tolerancia a seca e sua relação com o sistema radicular em especies de Coffea

6. Aquaporins expression and localization in the adult dog testis excurrent ducts (Canis familiaris) / Expressão e localização de aquaporinas na via espermatica de cão adulto, Canis familiaris

7. In silico analysis of ESTs from roots of Rangpur lime (Citrus limonia Osbeck) under water stress
CitEST project resulted in the construction of cDNA libraries from different Citrus sp. tissues under various physiological conditions. Among them, plantlets of Rangpur lime were exposed to hydroponic conditions with and without water stress using PEG6000. RNA from roots was obtained and generated a total of 4,130 valid cDNA reads, with 2,020 from the non-st

8. Estudo in silico de genes que codificam fatores de transcriÃÃo responsivos Ãseca, salinidade e congelamento nos genomas do eucalipto, cana e arroz
Abiotic stresses are the most responsable for causing changes in plant growth and development. The plants, in counterpart, make use of a variety of responses in order to maintain their metabolic and physiological processes. One of the main plants responses to environmental conditions alterations is the additional regulation of expression. Moreover, the biosy

10. Electrical parameters and water permeability properties of monolayers formed by T84 cells cultured on permeable supports
T84 is an established cell line expressing an enterocyte phenotype whose permeability properties have been widely explored. Osmotic permeability (P OSM), hydraulic permeability (P HYDR) and transport-associated net water fluxes (J W-transp), as well as short-circuit current (I SC), transepithelial resistance (R T), and potential difference (deltaV T) were me

11. Aquaporins of the PIP2 Class Are Required for Efficient Anther Dehiscence in Tobacco
Several processes during sexual reproduction in higher plants involve the movement of water between cells or tissues. Before flower anthesis, anther and pollen dehydration takes place before the release of mature pollen at dehiscence. Aquaporins represent a class of proteins that mediates the movement of water over cellular membranes. Aquaporins of the plasm

12. Characterization of a new vacuolar membrane aquaporin sensitive to mercury at a unique site.
The membranes of plant and animal cells contain aquaporins, proteins that facilitate the transport of water. In plants, aquaporins are found in the vacuolar membrane (tonoplast) and the plasma membrane. Many aquaporins are mercury sensitive, and in AQP1, a mercury-sensitive cysteine residue (Cys-189) is present adjacent to a conserved Asn-Pro-Ala motif. Here
