Na população geral tratada com penicilina, os testes não treponêmicos como, por exemplo, o VDRL, sigla de Veneral Disease Research Laboratory, devem ser solicitados a cada três meses, no primeiro ano, e a cada seis meses, no segundo ano, após o tratamento, ou até o paciente apresentar dois exames negativos consecutivos.

2. Novas Recomendações: Qual é o tratamento alternativo para sífilis primária na impossibilidade do uso de penicilina?
O tratamento para sífilis primária ou sífilis adquirida recente (menos de um ano de evolução), em pacientes não gestantes, pode ser feito com Doxiciclina 100 mg, via oral, de 12/12 horas por 15 dias ou Ceftriaxona 1 g, intramuscular ou intravenoso, 1 vez ao dia, por 8 a 10 dias.

3. Gestante com VDRL 1:1, tratada adequadamente em gestação anterior, precisa tratar novamente?
Se paciente e parceiro foram adequadamente tratados na gestação anterior e o casal permanece o mesmo, não há necessidade de tratamento novamente. A titulação de Venereal Disease Research Laboratory VDRL 1:1 é indicativa de titulação baixa e sem sinais de reinfecção. Recomenda-se, no entanto, que o VDRL seja repetido a cada 3 meses.
