1. Synthesis and Antitumor Evaluation of New Heterocycles Derived from 3-Methyl-2-benzothiazolinone Hydrazone
3-Methyl-2-benzothiazolinone hydrazone condensed with some selected aldehydes to give the corresponding Schiff bases. Cyclizing the obtained Schiff base derivatives with thioglycolic acid afforded the respective thiazolylideneaminothiazolidenones. Condensation of 3-methyl-2-benzothiazolinone hydrazone with ethyl cyanoacetate yielded a mixture of the bishydra

2. Whole cells in enantioselective reduction of benzyl acetoacetate
The β-ketoester benzyl acetoacetate was enantioselectively reduced to benzyl (S)-3-hydroxybutanoate by seven microorganism species. The best result using free cells was obtained with the yeast Hansenula sp., which furnished 97% ee and 85% of conversion within 24 h. After immobilization in calcium alginate spheres, K.marxianus showed to be more stable after

3. O ß-hidroxibutirato modifica os processos de ativação e inativação dos canais para sódio e potássio em corpos celulares de neurônios dos gânglios das raizes dorsais de ratos.
Under physiological conditions, the ketone bodies -hydroxybutyrate, acetoacetate and acetone are products of -oxidation of fatty acids that occurs in hepatocytes in response to hypoglycemia. This process occurs during fasting, high fat diets (such as the ketogenic diet, used in cases of drug-resistant epilepsy) and during diabetes mellitus in order to meet t

4. Mecanismo de oxidação aeróbica de acetoacetato e 2-metilacetoacetato catalisada por mioglobina: implicações em desordens cetogênicas / Mechanism of the aerobic oxidation of acetoacetate and 2- methylacetoacetate catalyzed by Mb: implications for ketogenic disorders

5. Classification of brain tumor extracts by high resolution ¹H MRS using partial least squares discriminant analysis
High resolution proton nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (¹H MRS) can be used to detect biochemical changes in vitro caused by distinct pathologies. It can reveal distinct metabolic profiles of brain tumors although the accurate analysis and classification of different spectra remains a challenge. In this study, the pattern recognition method partial

6. A green synthesis of α,β-unsaturated carbonyl compounds from glyceraldehyde acetonide
The catalytic behavior of Cs-exchanged and Cs-impregnated zeolites (X and Y) was studied using the Knoevenagel condensation between glyceraldehyde acetonide and ethyl acetoacetate in order to produce the corresponding α,β-unsaturated carbonyl compound that is an important intermediate for fine chemicals. The influence of reaction temperature, type of zeoli

7. Design, synthesis and evaluation of biological derivatives pyrroles potentially antiinflamatory activity / Planejamento, síntese e avaliação biológica de derivados pirrólicos com potencial atividade antiinflamatória
The nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are among the most prescribed and used drugs in the world. These drugs inhibit the cyclooxygenases, enzymes responsible for conversion of arachidonic acid into phlogistic prostaglandins, by the action of phospholipase A2. The synthesis of compounds containing pyrrole nucleus in their structures has been a topi

8. Multiple sclerosis: high resolution magnetic resonance spectroscopy and correlation with inflammatory course / Esclerose multipla : espectroscopia de protons de resolução do liquor e correlação com atividade inflamatoria
We studied cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) of 24 patients with multiple sclerosis (MS) and 11 control subjects by high resolution proton MR spectroscopy. The application of 1 H magnetic resonance spectroscopy in cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) analysis may detect metabolites in normal and pathological conditions. The purpose of this work was to evaluate what biochemical

9. Bionergetic of bioreduction process of the prochiral ketone ethyl acetoacetate.

10. A study of the sequential Michael addition-ring closure reaction of ethyl acetoacetate with chalcone: influence of quaternary ammonium cations as phase transfer catalysts
